About
Growing up in rural central Alberta, most of the stories I write are based in and around the land I love and, for the most part, are not intended to be read by minors (18+)!
I've always preferred the science fiction and fantasy genres, and when the Internet became popular I gravitated toward serial publishing, which often doesn't conform to commonly published material!
I chose the road less travelled as a SERIAL PUBLISHER
and my stories ARE published AS I'm writing them!
This path has challenges most writers won't undertake!
You HAVE to schedule writing time (to keep readers engaged)
You HAVE to produce quality work as thousands of readers DO see my rough copies, and even pay me for that privilege!
You HAVE to stage your publishing!
With your work already out there, no publisher will look at you. You're on your own for promotion!
For example, my author website (which people subscribe to) get first read, then sites like Patreon and Ream Stories (which people subscribe to) get second read. I then even go as far as eventually publishing the chapters on FREE sites for all to read!
It's like having thousands of beta readers! Not a lot gets by them if you have typos, grammar issues, plot holes, timeline issues, etc.
PS: Not all serial publishers go as far as the FREE sites. Those require tough skin as you get a LOT of critique, feedback and criticism mixed with the odd kudo.
But alas, once the story is completed, it then goes through proper editing before getting turned into a book. Which, many beta readers also then buy, because it often has many differences to what they read when I was writing it! It's like getting paid twice for the same work and the book provides not only income, but finds other readers that may eventually subscribe to your other streams.
When I'm not writing, reading or working, I enjoy spending time with my three lovely ladies, golfing or camping out in the woods with my family.
