- The Last Crusader
THE LAST CRUSADER occurs between 1920 and around 1950. It's about a boy who grew up under terrible conditions. His parents died, and he went to various foster homes, which also abused him while living in the mid-West. He was fortunate that a police officer went out of his way to help the boy. He was made a ward of the court and seemed to start seeing a different side of the world. Jim began to do well in school and later joined the U.S. Army. When Jim left the service, he returned to school to be a lawyer. Along the way, he saw how people were mistreated and how many couldn’t protect themselves. He tries to help as many people as possible, never taking any money from them. Sometimes, the people who had been abused didn’t even know they were being helped. His practice as a lawyer took care of all his financial needs. He has about 12 of these adventures before he retires and moves away. He made some friends but never met them socially. As a result, he also became a loner, and he was okay with that. When he retired, he donated his household furniture to a charity, changed his name, and disappeared to where he used to take his vacation when he was stationed in Germany.
- How to Add Your Book to Member Books
One of the best benefits of having a guild membership is adding any published books to the Member Books page, which is one of the highest traffic sections of the site, next to our Meetings page. This page takes into account that you are already a member of the guild. NOTE: If you already have books listed, they will appear and you can edit their listings. If this is your first time adding a book, we highly recommend printing this off! Log in to the website ( top-right of every page ). Once logged in your name will appear instead of "Log In". Click your name and a drop-down menu will appear. Select " Profile " Below your profile, there’s a " Create a Post " link. Alternatively, if you already have posts/books, you can go directly to My Posts through the drop-down menu (see image below). Type the title of the book where it says "Add a Catchy Title" (DO NOT USE ALL CAPS!) Click on the + and then the CAMERA icon. Upload the FRONT COVER of your book in JPG format (max 1MB size) The image then gets added to the post, but it's full-width. There's a menu along the top, the first icon allows you to change size , choose COMPACT . The next icon allows you to position the image, choose LEFT . Go to your book sale page on Amazon, or wherever it is, and Cut & Paste the synopsis/book blurb. Cutting and pasting between platforms doesn't always format things properly, so you may need to make some adjustments. At the bottom of the post you can click the + and in the middle is ADD A BUTTON . This creates a generate button that says " Click Me ". Change the wording to indicate the site your link goes to, such as Amazon.com . Then click the GEAR atop the button and paste the link to the book sales page. Look your posting over before clicking the PUBLISH button in the bottom-right corner. Don't worry if you can't make it look exactly like the others on the Member Books page. You only have the ability to create a draft. Once you try to publish the post, the webmaster gets notified and they get to review (and format it to look like the others) before making it visible by the public.
